  • Niagara Falls from the Canadian side at night

Continuing on the multi part series of pictures from East Coast USA in the Fall of 2012

After getting up at 6am, driving through the Adirondacks in the morning, then the Finger Lakes Region for sunset, I kept going and going like an energizer bunny until I got to Niagara Falls at around 11pm. It was freeeeezing (literally below freezing temperature) and I didn't bring gloves, duh.

The American Falls and the bridge connecting USA/Canada

Absolutely gorgeous with the artificial lights they put on at night. It is quite magical, but also slightly gnarly in a way

Like a watery furnace, love it :)

They change the color of the lights every 10 minutes or so... so I stood there (no gloves, remember?) and took 3 pictures and put them together in photoshop for this composite color view.
Sometimes I wonder if all my effort really means anything, haha. But once I see a picture in my head I want it!

HDR works great for the crazy night scene here. The light trails makes it look like northern lights, very cool :)

As a side note, the mist rising from the falls hang around for a few minutes, then condense and rain/snow right back down. I got soaked walking through it, it's hmmm, invigorating?! More like ****ing freezing!
