USA Summer Road trip 2008 - Day 3 (1 of 2) - Yellowstone National park
Trip duration: 15 days (May 9th to 23rd)
Total distance: 9000km/5560milesToo many photos from Day 3, so I'm spllitting it up into two posts. (ps, sorry for spelling mistakes, I typed this half asleep..)
Little deer by the stream
Eating everything's that green
This land isn't unlike a dream
Beauty's everywhere it seems :)
Zoom in a little cloesr and we shall see
A breakfast as wet as can be!
Doesn't look very tasty, don't you agree?
I much prefer my toast and tea... :P
The kid seems stunned:
"How come it isn't running away like they usually do?"
Yellowstone National Park have some strange animals, they're wild, yet almost all of them quite unafraid of humans.. Tamed wild animals? :P
I prefer left and you like the right
And I like standing over on this side of the dike
But whether we like it or not we're still very much alike
Eating soggy grass is what we like :D
I'm the quiet and slient type
Slowly and unmoved by any hype
Or am I merely bored by the same sounds and sights?
Okay I'm sorta running out of time and energy to keep writing poems for every picture.. I still got work tomorrow!ahhh but...
A joy ride lasting a million years
All the water grinning from ear to ear
Our journey from there to here
A game repeating for another million years
A portal into the underworld
This is starting to look less and less like earth.. mmm
It's like a forest fire of steam!
MINI waiting to attack the twisty canyon roads :D
Not afraid of the thousand foot fall
Not afraid of the harsh rocky walls
Only wanting to squeal some tires that's all
MINI's so damn fun and small :D
Deathy steamy dreamy
A world so... otherworldly
Dead but still standing
Bald but still looking... :P
Doesn't really smell like straight sulfur like at work, more steamy, organic smell, like a rotting soup :P
A close up of the top right of the last picture. The different deposits and organic matter makes all types of shapes and colors.
Slimey white
Weird sight
Smells real ripe
Strange is right
"Yellow"stone National Park
If they knew they would die there, would they have grown in the first place?
I guess, life doesn't care, we try to live anywhere we can. Our self created sorrows are also our greatest strength
Bisons resting during mid day. A side note, right after I took this pic I tried to change lens and dropped my lovely Canon 40D onto the concrete, smashing the built in flash... ouch!
After swearing at myself I kept on taking pics :P Moooooo! Actually, no, the bisons don't moo at all, they're so damn quiet.
Elk
Wild photographer :P Like I mentioned about, the wildlife generally seem to ignore people and don't run away inside the park, very strange. And lots and lots of crazy photographers in the park :P (yes, I am crazy too :D )
Go back to previous road trip entries....
Mid way point of the day at Tower Falls, saw another MINI Cooper from New Mexico and obvoiusly, had to park beside it and take a picture :)

silly poems. :P your first one is weird.. but i give you a pass.. since you're tired. hahaha
you went to sf? when? where'd you go? i wanna see pics! can't wait. ^^
You know, it's such a joy to come here everyday and view your photography... really, it's just beautiful
These sceneries are very different from the previous day!
To do you justice, I think it's my mood that I don't find them interesting. I used to like those scenes with “steam or smoke” as I would associate them with fairy tales but this time, they didn't appeal to me?! Some of the them looked like a place I have visited, it's 黃龍 in Sichuan.
Anyway, I enjoy your poems (i like toast and tea too) and humor .....
Ah, more will come later, let me see, let me see .....
cool pics, they brought back allot of memories.. that suspended cliff side highway is awesome aint it? I love yellowstone..your surrounded by so much beauty but at the same time your sorta standing in the gates to hell. the park is so HUGE but its only like half the size of the volcano it sits on which is the craziest part of it all
great stuff. I must go there some day.
Oh my God, I love your pictures (including your profile one), and also I love the cars, I love this kind of cars, extremely cute and pretty.
cool trees and rocks 8)
You posted some of these before ;o
Thanks so much, and I will think carefully...its going to be a long road, and I am sure things will work themselves out...I just am trying to exhale deeply and just to be who I am and hope for the best...
Awesome pics!!! And its great how you incorporate you poetry into the pictures you take. Kudos to you and thanks for sharing.
Peace.....Dragonslord
@azn_x_strike - yeah a couple of them during the trip :) But as the trip went on I had less and less time to edit so... There will be less repost later :P
shh, picky girl :P hahaha, glad you pay attention tho!
Wow it really looks like you went to another planet in some of those pictures. They're all so beautiful.
that waterfall picture is just amazing! I seriously love your pictures
